I am so confused. I’m 18 and my fiancé and I repented, but keep going back to fornication. Whenever we fornicate I hate myself for hurting God. We want to stop, but we just don’t find it easy to stop. We have this disease which we have spent so much money on to treat, but it’s not going away because we are still having sex. However, we believe God is still going to heal us. I told a Pastor who is following me up about the infection and he said that we shouldn’t take the drugs, but have faith that God will heal us. We believe this and don’t have the intention of buying the drugs anymore. My question is will God still heal us even after we’ve still fornicated or should we just go and buy the drugs or have faith that God will heal us now that we’ve asked for forgiveness again? My Pastor doesn’t know that we still fornicated and I can’t tell him, but I have told God in prayers. Are there other people having such problems? Please help us. I want to follow Christ all my days and I want this infection to leave us so that we can have babies in the future.
I’m sorry to hear that you’re struggling with this disease. Yes, there are many people struggling with the same issues as you. However, I believe if you’ll take care of the most important issue, God will take care of the rest. The most important issue is your obedience to God. You must take care of that, before you can seek Him for healing. I know that God loves you, but having sex before marriage is wrong in God’s sight and if you want His help, you have to do things His way. As long as you continue to get too close to your fiancé, you’re setting yourself up for failure. Sexual drive can be difficult to control, but it is possible. You said you’ve repented, but repentance is more than asking for forgiveness. Repentance is when you ask for forgiveness and turn from sin. In other words, you have to change things so that it won’t keep on happening. As far as your healing, you don’t have to stop taking the drugs for the purpose of demonstrating your faith. When God heals you, you’ll know it and a doctor will confirm it. I’m glad to hear you want to follow Christ all your days so I encourage you to obey Him. I will be praying for you both.
Thank you for answering my question. I have bought the drugs before, but the infection is stubborn. It’s called staphylococcus aureus and now I don’t want to spend any more money on drugs because I believe God can cure us. Even my Pastor said that God will heal us without taking drugs. Kindly advise please.
Thank you for your reply. I’m not a doctor so I can’t recommend what you should do concerning the drugs. However, they may be important to your recovery and God may choose to use them.
