Evil Thursday?

April 29, 2010 by Rev

Dear Rev. I have a question. I get paid every Thursday and it seems like every Thursday something goes wrong. My husband always blows up in my face because our finances are messed up. It causes me and my hubby to argue. Also on a Thursday my car was working fine and then when I made my last stop it wouldn’t start. I mean it’s something all the time on a Thursday. I don’t know what it is, but the only thing that I can figure is the devil. I don’t worry about anything anymore whether its finances or car because I know God will take care of it as long as I have faith, but do you know why these things happen on a Thursday to us?

I’m sorry to hear about the financial troubles you’ve been having. Finances are a highly emotional subject especially when things are tight. Does your husband pray with you concerning the finances? Payday has the potential to be a stressful day when you’re living cheque to cheque and there are bills to pay. Unfortunately, the devil can also use it as an opportunity to stir up trouble. The best thing to do is be careful how you spend your cheque when you get it. The devil is at work every day of the week, not just Thursday. Therefore, you have to be prepared spiritually every day. The Bible says, “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground” – Ephesians 6:11-13.  In addition to being prepared as a soldier, start each morning in prayer and commit your day into God’s hands and I’m sure you’ll see a difference!
