First of all, God created you to have a relationship with Him. He wants you to know Him in a personal way. However, there is an issue that keeps us from having a relationship with God. The issue is forgiveness for sins. God is holy and we are not. Therefore, we must ask Jesus to forgive our sins because that is why He died on a cross. It was to make forgiveness possible. The mistake most people make is to not make it personal. Instead, they believe that going to church or simply “believing” in God is enough. However, religion cannot save you, only a relationship with God can. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, but by me” – John 14:6.

So, God’s main purpose for your life is to know Him in a personal way. He wants to have a daily relationship with you. He wants it to be a real, just like a father has with his children. The details of our lives are worked out on a daily basis. We pray, talk to God, ask Him for direction and trust where He is leading. If we don’t know what to do or lack wisdom in a situation, we can ask for it. The Bible says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” – James 1:5. Also, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6.
