Dear Rev. How do you get to know Jesus Christ?

Getting to know Jesus Christ is like getting to know someone you’ve just met. In the beginning it’s like they’re a stranger to you. However, when you spend time with them you get to know them better. It’s the same with Jesus. It may seem strange in the beginning to be talking to someone you can’t see, but He does hear you. He also reveals Himself to us in ways that we can know only for ourselves. The secret to having a fulfilling relationship with Him is found in the following scripture – “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” – Hebrews 11:6. The key word here is “diligently”. This means to put effort into seeking Him. The Bible also says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” – James 4:8. So don’t be concerned with other people’s experiences. Walk your own walk with God and get to know Him for yourself.
