If someone kills another can they be forgiven and still go to heaven? I was just wondering with all these people killing each other all the time.
Thank you for your question. Yes, it’s true there are a lot of murders happening all over. However, the amazing thing about God’s love is that it is unconditional. God loves a person no matter who they are or what they’ve done. He hates their sin, but has provided a way for forgiveness. This way is through Jesus Christ. Christ died on a cross and shed His blood so that even the worst of sinners could be forgiven. Therefore even murderers can be forgiven.
Nevertheless, we must also look at ourselves under God’s light. We have also broken His laws by using His name in vain, lying, lusting, and the list goes on. We are all quilty before God. This is why Jesus Christ died on the cross so that all could receive a pardon. However, you must plead “guilty” now while you are living. People in heaven will be those who have received this pardon. It won’t be because they’ve been good. This is why the Bible says, “For it is by faith you have been saved and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works so that no one can boast” – Ephesians 2:8-9. No one in heaven will be boasting about how they earned their salvation. They will be there solely by the grace of God and having received His forgiveness through Jesus Christ! Amen!
