Horoscopes

January 8, 2010 by Rev

Dear Rev. I would like to ask you about the horoscopes. Would I be committing a sin if I check my horoscope? And believe in them to come true? Thank you Rev. I’ll be waiting for your reply.

The stars were never created for the purpose of giving us direction for our lives. Instead, we are to receive our daily direction and encouragement from God alone. So yes, it is a sin to be checking horoscopes because in doing so we are substituting them for God’s direction. I’m thinking that you are probably a religious person, but have never been born again spiritually. Jesus said, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” – John 3:3. Being “born again” is a spiritual birth that takes place when a person asks Jesus Christ to forgive them for all of their sins and they become a follower of Him. You can have this experience too! It’s the best decision you will ever make. Once you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ you will never need to look anywhere else for guidance or encouragement. Instead, He promises to be with you and give you direction and help in your life – something horoscopes cannot give. He’s also interested in the details of your life more than you’ll know.

Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” – John 14:6. Therefore, the only way to know God as your Heavenly Father is to know Jesus Christ first as your personal Savior from sin. If you have any more questions or if you would like to know more about being born again just let me know. God bless you!
