Dear Rev. I would like to know why Jesus spoke in parables.
Parables are stories taken from everyday life which Jesus used to explain spiritual truths. He used parables so that common people could understand what he was saying. Another way to describe a parable is “an earthly story with a heavenly truth”. However, not everyone understood the spiritual truths he was explaining because they’re heart wasn’t open.
